Route MapBangalore – Krishnagiri (KRP Dam)– Bangalore.

Short and sweet description:
Exploration satisfies wandering soul. This is what has happened during the trip.
Landed up at beautiful place in backwaters of Krishnagiri Dam, found a peaceful place to relax and energies.

Quickest getaway from Bangalore.

Travelogue:

The last road trip on my Apache was not at all smooth ride. Post that, I’ve decided to change my Bike.
Initially, I thought of switching to “Honda CBR-250R”, As it is a perfect Sports Tourer.
But, somehow I’ve been attracted towards the new “Adventure Tourer”of RoyalEnfield which is “HIMALAYAN”.

After couple of test rides on both the bikes, I felt HIMALAYAN is providing comfort posture for long rides. As I’m not into speeding, I’ve decided to go for HIMALAYAN.
Finally got my HIMALAYAN 10days back.

Saturday night:
This is my first trip on HIMALAYAN.
I’m having the similar excitement like my first road trip on Apache(~6 years back).

Instead of riding whole day, decided to ride towards Hosur and change plan on the go.

Sunday morning:
The weather is chill and quite inviting to hit the road.
Around 6.30am, While I’m about to lock the room, could see a beautiful view of Sunrise over the water tank.

Quickly captured the snaps of sunrise and started my journey.

Roads are little bit wet due to last night rain. Knees could feel the chillness in the weather.

Within 15mins, reached Hosur tollgate.
The mist covered roads after Hosur are just amazing to ride through. The cloudy weather has added an advantage to it.

I must talk about the bike comfort here,
The up-straight posture, the placement of instrument cluster, and the vibration less Royal Enfield bike are the most satisfying things.

After crossing Hosur, Just felt like having early breakfast. So stopped at road side dhaba.

While enjoying the view of Mist covered hills, unexpected drizzling has added extra beauty to the place. By the time I’m done with breakfast, rain has stopped. With a hope of no more rain, resumed ride towards Krishnagiri.

As of now destination is not clear.
Just enjoying the feel of riding the new machine. This machine is a head turner. I could observe most of the people looking at him.

Soon, reached Krishnagiri. Still my destination is not yet fixed.
Avoided Chennai highway and cruising on NH7 towards Salem. While reaching the other end of Krishnagiri, the view of paddy fields with a hill backdrop caught my attention.

Immediately stopped for a while to know about any worth visiting places near by.
While checking in maps, came across a waterbody near Krishnagiri.
I've remembered my friend mentioning about a reservoir near Krishnagiri.

Further searching revealed that, Krishnagiri reservoir is around 15kms from current location. Finally decided my destination and started riding towards reservoir.

The next stretch is very quick and beautiful. Could feel the villages coming alive while drizzling. Within 15mins reached the destination.

On reaching the destination spot, I could see 2 roads. Right way leads to the entrance of Krishnagiri Dam and Park. The Left way doesn’t give any idea.
Quickly checked in maps to see where the left road leads to.

It’s a village route and surprisingly running parallel to the backwaters of reservoir.

Adventure soul pulled me towards the left way.
Next few kms of ride is unbelievably awesome.
With a little off-roading and riding close to nature, finally here IAM.

Blissful to find a perfect backwater spot.

Krishnagiri Dam

Explored and enjoyed the place till afternoon.

While returning through villages, came across many roadside hotels frying fresh fishes.
Seems like this place is famous for fish(later my friend confirmed the same).
As I’m starving for food, decided to have fish in lunch.

Even though the roasted fish looks extremely dangerous, but tastes yummy.
Rice, tamilnadu Sambar and yummy fish fry.

After having tummyfull food, doesn’t feel like ride back home.
So, back to backwater spot and found a perfect place to take a nap.

Thought of taking rest for 1hour.
But nature didn’t let me leave till sunset.
Almost spent 4Hours listening to favourite music and blogging under the Shades of coconut trees.

While returning, killed some more time in HOTEL MANGALAM(my usual pit stop on this highway) after crossing Krishnagiri toll.

By 8pm, I’m able to reach Bangalore.

One more unplanned destination ride mixed with exploring new place and lots of memorable moments comes to an end. :-)

Odometer reading: 143 kms.
Route MapBangalore – Hosur - Denkanikottai - Pachapalli - Bangalore

Short and sweet description:
One of the quickest getaway from Bangalore. Not much to enjoy, but these kindof places comes in handy when you badly wants to go for a ride.

Travelogue:
It’s around 1’o clock on a boring Sunday we decided to go on a short ride.
It’s Seshu’s suggestion to ride to Pachapalli Dam. I’ve never heard about this place.
Decided to give it a try and see how does this place and road surprises me.

After 1hour, Seshu has reached my place wearing a “Cap helmet” riding his HIMALAYAN.
Hahaa…. deadly combination isn’t it..!!

He has lost his helmet somewhere, and realized that while leaving his home.
Luckily I’ve bought new helmet recently and finally my SparX helmet(thinking of selling/giving it to someone) gonna reach Seshu’s home.

By 3’o clock, started from my place.
After Hosur, took a diversion towards Denkanikottai.
It's an hour of journey.
Some stretches are very good with curvy roads through little ghat section.
By 4.30 we have reached the destination.
As there is nothing much to see, like all the bikers, killed the time by talking about Bikes and future travel plans and all.

As we've started riding back to Bangalore. soon, the dark clouds have chased us and made us to stop at a Hut where Chicken Tandoori is being prepared freshly.
Seshu never says no to food :-)

With a halt for an hour, able to reach Home by 7.30.
