Bangalore to Talakadu trip

When: 19th Nov 2017.
DestinationTalakadu(Karnataka)
How and who all are: Solo on "RoyalEnfield HIMALAYAN"
Odometer reading: 286 kms.
Route MapBangalore – Vaishali Hotel(Mathikere) - Talakadu - Bangalore.

Short and sweet description:
As usual, planned to explore Talakadu, but ended up hanging out in the middle of Paddy fields. I feel, Talakadu is always crowded and humid. that makes me to spend very less time there.

This trip is all about, "coming across a temple, which is surrounded by lush green paddy fields, water stream, chatting with kids and clicking some beautiful snaps"

Travelogue:

As planned, started from bagnalore @ 6AM,
Vaishali Hotel is 100kms from my room. Via NICE road- Mysore road exit, able to reach it by 8AM.

Filled tummy with all time favt, Mutton Kheema dosa followed by Kesari and resumed the ride.

Vaishali Restaurent

Talakadu is 75kms far from here. it took 1.30hrs to reach there.
As usual, it's crowded and humid. Felt like escaping from here asap.
So, walked till river, then to temple and then back on bike.

While returning, just wanted check, is there any way to reach the other side of river. while looking for that, came across a patch, leading to a temple which is surrounded by beautiful paddy fields.

That's the temple

I just felt like... this looks much better than the crowded place.
So, without any thought, continued riding towards the temple.
The place is very calm and peaceful.
360deg view is covered with Paddy fields, and water streams.

Spent couple of hours over there and started riding back to Bangalore.

Ride to the Land covered with WindMills

When: 11th Nov 2017.
DestinationUravakonda, Kalyanadurg, Penna Ahobilam (Andhra Pradesh)
How and who all are: Solo on "RoyalEnfield HIMALAYAN"
Odometer reading: 585 kms.
Route MapBangalore – Madhugiri - Madakasira - Kalyanadurg- Ankampalli- Raketla - Penna Ahobilam - Anantapuram - Bangalore.

Short and sweet description:
If Machine is capable of taking me everywhere, it’s a foolish decision to stick to Taar roads..!!

So, rode Matt machine on black soil under the shadows of Windmills, made my own path to lost in nature.
It’s perfect solo ride and one of the best off-road experiences.

Travelogue:
It’s been more than one month, since I bought my “Matte Machine(HIMALAYAN).”
So far, couldn’t able to experience its performance to the fullest.
As it is being advertised as comfortable all road adventure bike. I’ve decided to explore the Machine On and Off-road.
Highways are easily accessible for On-road performance, Hard thing is finding the perfect Off-road terrain. Then, I thought about taking the Machine through area covered with WindMills.

With a fair knowledge about “availability of WindMills around Hindupur/Ananthapur - AndhraPradesh”, started googling for exact location. But, none of the searches helped me.
Exploring the maps further, came across the below Aerial view.
Zooming further made me realize that, this is the place to where I want to take my Machine.

...Zooming further. can see  WindMills

Fast forward...Next day morning,
Started my day @5.30AM. Plan is to reach Madakasira fort via Madhughiri.
Took NICE road to enter Bangalore-Pune NH and near Dabbaspet deviated towards Madhugiri.
The ride till Madhugiri is not exciting, more of a road with lots of unwanted speed breakers. Couldn’t able to cruise at constant speed.

The fun on roads started after crossing Karnataka-AndhraPradesh border.
As planned earlier, I’m able to reach Madakasira by 9AM. Intentionally dropped the plans of visiting Madakasira fort and continued riding towards Kalyanadurg.

As it is just 75kms of journey, expected to reach by 10.30AM and halt for breakfast in Kalyanadurg. But, twist in the plan had come after riding for 10kms post Madakasira.

While descending a ghat section, A beautiful landscapes covered with lush green grass caught my attention.
Quickly detoured and reached the spot.
After spending for an hour by clicking snaps, cont. towards Kalyanadurg.

As I ride further, the views are getting better and better. With a couple of breaks here and there, finally able to reach Kalyandurg by 11.45AM.

It’s a brunch time, :-)
Luckily found a hotel near By-pass road.
2 plates of famous Uggani- Mirchi Bajji is much needed for me.
As next 40kms stretch goes through villages and little off roading, I’m not sure about the hotels availability. So, had little extra food to survive till I reach the other end of the stretch.

Fuelled Bike and resumed the ride towards Ankampalli.
Within 10mins, had the first glimpse of Windmills. Slowly soil color is changing into Black and I’m getting surrounded by Windmills.

Next 40kms of stretch is through beautiful landscapes.

By 3PM completely explored the place and reached “Penna Ahobilam” which is on Ballari- Ananthapuram state highway.
While returning to Home, I preferred to take National Highway. Hence headed towards Ananthapuram and from there to Bangalore.

The further ride through NH is very much comfortable and by 9pm, able to reach Bangalore.

That’s all about the 608kms of Solo ride in single day.
See you in next blogpost.
