Day5: Thoduguzha - Alleppy - Alleppy backwater

Day 5: Feb 4rd 2013

Travelogue:

I was little bit excited about today's trip. 
As we were going to reach "Heart of God's own country..!! "Alleppy - House Boats - BackWater".

Left "Thodupuzha" by 8'0 clock after finishing our breakfast in the hotel itself. 
We had a look at route map and started our ride. Like last day, road condition was bad for first 50Kms.

After that the ride was smooth. As we were nearing Alleppy, We could see backwater canals everywhere. 
Here and there, breath taking views of nature was welcoming us to Alleppy.

By 11am we were in Alleppy. 25kms further ride was required to reach the place called "Alleppy Jetty".
It's a like stop for all the boats. we can call it as "Boat Stop" :P

After reaching "Alleppy Jeatty", Arun's childhood friend has received us.
As they are familiar with Malayalam, they have handles the booking of boat for 1600/- for 7 Hours ride.

We have parked our bikes at near by place and purchased some eatables and headed towards our Boat.
The boat was perfect for 2 members and our luggage.

As soon as we got into the boat, we have asked him to take us to "YMC spot(Church scene)". It took 3Hours to reach that spot, to our surprise, it didn't look like YMC spot. Then, we soon realised that, we were cheated :(

We were left with 4 more hours to cover Actual beautiful spots of Backwaters.
The Boat owner, some how took us to main lake and then he started explaining about in n around nature beauties.

"Agriculture below sea level" was nice. Every corner of Backwater was having it's own scenic view.
we took enough number of snaps before sunset.

To our luck, we were still in main canal during sunset time. 
Sunset from middle of the Backwater was spectaculous. You can find the snaps below..

By 6.30pm, he has dropped us at Jetty. For that day our night stay was in Arun's friend house.
We had kerala special "Appam and Fish curry" and headed to his friend's house.

That was the end of Day5 :)
